The GREAT Owyhee Pie Ride!! November 9, 2019
The infamous PIE Ride was a HUGE success in 2018! Who doesn't love riding and eating pie!! We're doing it again Nov. 9, 2019. This year we will benefit Ervin Gross who was severely injured while out clearing trail for the Chief Joseph ride. Ervin is always willing to help others, now is our opportunity to help him pay some medical costs not covered by insurance plus make up for some of that time off work. We'll have a HUGE Raffle for $1 a ticket and all proceeds go to Ervin. You can have fun and help someone all at the same time. You can actually stay and ride the 10th if you like. Just be sure and bring EVERYTHING you need.
Plan to attend this FUN Fall trail ride. Non competitive. Open to all breeds. Mules too. It is also an ApHC Regional Trail ride and you can get recreational miles. Sign in begins at 9:00 AM till 10:30 AM. Ride a self guided marked 10 mile trail along Succor Creek and the ridgetops or ride a shorter loop with no creek crossings. The creek has many natural obstacles you can practice all you like. PIE and raffle at 2 PM. There will be burgers cooked up by the Sorrell family on a donation basis. Camp out if you want and ride Sunday. Trail is 10 mile loop or 5 mile out and back. I may also have a longer 16+ mile loop if I have enough interest. Walkers/runners welcome too!!
Bring EVERYTHING you will need, water for you and your horse, food, hay, potty, chair, extra clothes, etc.. Camp is only a large flat prairie and NO fires will be allowed unless we get some good rain between now and then. I MIGHT be able to get the potty outfit to bring us one, they don't like those roads when wet so ?? I'll have a loo in a privy tent for those who are not self contained.
$25 will get you a commemorative T shirt, $40 gets you a full zip hoody, trails to ride, or just hang out in camp, fun prizes for all and pie. Pre-entries help insure that I have enough PIE for everyone. If you register by Oct 20 and get me your shirt size I can guarantee the shirt you want. Otherwise I may run out of shirts. So reserve your shirts. All unisex sizes available. If you rode last year and didn't get your shirt then PLEASE come get it!! I set up several delivery stations and some folks never showed up. Goody bags for all entries until we run out so reserve your shirt and goody bag today!
We MIGHT have coffee and goodies available Saturday AM at check in. There will be hamburgers that you can purchase from my granddaughters raising money for FFA Nationals and a trip to DC, the raffle and a 50/50 drawing for Ervin. Some fun and food for everyone! Young riders under 16 MUST wear a helmet. We've chosen November due to various hunting seasons in the area. This is a remote area with no ambulance, a vet clinic is 10 miles away and a hospital is 40 miles away.
Please email me at for entry form as it won't allow me to attach one here. Grrrr. Guess I should've just left the old form on here. You can enter online here Thank you!
