OREANA HIDEOUT

I am lucky enough to live in a remote and semi-wild piece of Owyhee County. People go to retreats but I live in one, and I call it my OREANA HIDEOUT. The word "hideout" sounds more fun and interesting than "retreat", more Old West and Butch Cassidy. If you're a friend of mine feel free to come out and experience life where the deer and the antelope play. Although you may not know where Oreana, ID is, believe it or not it's on the map, Hwy 78. I always had my place as Zapped Ranch, named after a horse I rode for years. So when you see old Zapped Ranch links that's still me.

RIDE all day, the property borders BLM for miles of trail cow trails and 2 tracks, a serene and remote quiet setting in the Owyhee High Desert. Ride for many miles in any direction. Occasionally you may find the remnants of an old homestead.

EQUINE Massage, K Tape, Rehab  and Bemer are offered as well. I haveseveral certifications and offer different modalities to suit your horse's needs.  Occasional clinics are available, just ask via email zap6000@gmail.com

PRIVATE endurance mentoring, coaching and consultation services are also available. Please ask for details. In addition the benefit Great Owyhee Pie ride and a couple other rides are held here as well. Check them out under the EVENTS tab.

The old ranch site features a large round corral and arena, obstacles, a large dry area for parking, in addition to direct BLM access through my property. And for kicks and giggles I want to mark out a cross country trail course on my property. It'll be fun practice for those competitions.  And I love driving up to Silver City and ride out that direction. Always more fun with others. Not far to trails down at Bruneau or go fishing at C J Strike Reservoir.

From 2000 to 2020 Teeters held International and AERC endurance rides here so you know it's a riders paradise in the sagebrush and hi desert that it is. Across the highway is Birds of Prey lands and keep going to the Snake River. Ride as far as your dreams.

DOGS MUST be leashed, tied, contained in YOUR area while visiting because I also have a dog and cats.
